Who can come along & how
Anyone who is under 26 and have diverse sexuality, sex and/or gender (DSG) or who are questioning their sex, sexuality and/or gender are welcome! Any friends or family are also welcome to come to check the centre out, support their loved one, and get info and support from the staff and volunteers.
Drop-in! It’s a free service and everyone is welcome anytime we’re open; so long as you respect the centre and the people in it. We have some rules centred around this expectation of respect that we ask everyone to stick to;
FC Responsibilities & Rules
- Respect other people, their personal space, privacy and their property at the Centre. Use respectful language: no put-downs, threats or discrimination against any person or group
- Respect the space and clean & tidy up any mess made
- Respect ourselves: drug & alcohol free zone. If you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol we ask that you don’t use the FC Safe Space
- Participate in the set activity as best you can
- Be inclusive of all people at the Centre
- No cuddling, kissing or intimate touching as it can make some people feel uncomfortable or left out
- Don’t use the centre just to meet people for dating: it’s a no pick up zone
- Follow directions of staff at all times
Freedom Centre can only work if everyone agrees to put these ideas into practice. To make sure Freedom Centre is a Safe Space people who behave in ways that don’t fit these rules will be asked to leave.
