Adam Lambert

Who is your FC Idol?

Adam Lambert

What are they famous/ infamous for?

Adam came to fame on the 2009 Season of American Idol and has risen to further fame from the release of his first album "For Your Entertainment". He was regarded by Simon Cowel as the most talented enterant they had ever seen on American Idol on the back of sometimes chilling performances. Whilst not being the only Gay entrant on Idol, many believe him to be the first out contestant to have gotten so far on Idol.

When was the first time you heard about or, saw your FC idol?

I first saw Adam Lambert on TV, my mother had been raving about him and mentioned that I looked kind of like him (Yeah... I wish) and said I should take a listen

What have you learnt from your Freedom Centre Idol? (If there's anything)

To love myself for who I am and to stamd out form the crowd just enough to get noticed

If your Freedom Centre idol could read this is there anything you would like to say to them?

Keep on rocking it you sexy sexy piece of man!

Adam Lambert

Why are they your Freedom Centre Idol?

Adam Lambert is my Idol mainly because he stands for a lot of what I think the gay community should stand for. He is unapologetic about his sexuality but doesn't shove it in people's faces. He has boat loads of talent and has already worked with some of the greatest Artists of my generation. He is both a role model and something to strive for myself and I believe the gay community could learn a lot form him and his words.

If you could ask your Freedom Centre idol three questions what would they be?

  1. At what point did you know that you were going to be a entertainer as your career
  2.  Who are your biggest influences as both a singer and a person
  3.  Is there anyone you really want to work with in the future

John Barrowman!

Who is your FC Idol?

John Barrowman!

What are they famous/ infamous for?

He is an actor and singer, and is most well known for his role as Doctor Who’s first ever, openly non-straight character, Captain Jack Harkness (he also instigated DW’s first male/male kiss, with Christopher Eccelston as the Doctor). He now stars in his own Doctor Who spin-off, Torchwood, doesn’t do labels, and having been born in the 51st Century, is very open and fluid when it comes to sexuality.

When was the first time you heard about or, saw your FC idol?

Season One of New-Who, in the episode ‘The Empty Child’

What have you learnt from your Freedom Centre Idol? (If there's anything)

Just be yourself, love as much as you can, and live every day as your last.

If your Freedom Centre idol could read this is there anything you would like to say to them?

Thank you for doing that doco, The Making of Me. I forced my Mother to watch it, and since then she has (mostly) stopped commenting on my male friends, and ‘gay’ tendancies.

Why are they your Freedom Centre Idol?

John Barrowman is really so much like his character, Captain Jack. In his TV interviews, he is outrageously camp, and not ashamed of it. His book, Anything Goes, was great fun, and a bloody good read, and every time is see the Captain get intimate with Ianto it makes me smile.

If you could ask your Freedom Centre idol three questions what would they be?

  1. What  would you really like to happen between Jack and Ianto? Will Jack ever settle down, and commit to Ianto for the rest of Ianto’s life?
  2. What was your reaction when you found out Jack would become The Face of Boe?
  3. What the HELL were you thinking, going blond for The Producers?!?!

Tom Wood

Who is your FC Idol?

Tom Wood!

What are they famous/ infamous for?

After being harassed and threatened for months on the Internet when he was 14, Melbourne schoolboy Tom Wood has been using his experience to work with psychologists, media, organisations and Governments around Australia to make sure no other kids have to endure the cyber-bullying he did.

When was the first time you heard about or, saw your FC idol?

When I found out about him speaking at the Headspace Online forum about cyber bullying

What have you learnt from your Freedom Centre Idol? (If there's anything)

Tom’s tips to prevent and resolve cyber bullying are:
1. Don’t respond to the bully AT ALL (It will make it worse, trust me;)
2. Save the evidence, whether it is text, images or websites
3. Block and Delete the bully from the service
4. Report Abuse to the Admins of the service
5. Tell trusted people, which may be friends, adults, teachers, parents and police if necessary - as it is a criminal offence

Why are they your Freedom Centre Idol?

I just think it is so cool that there is 16 year old out there advising the government on how to make the web safer. Most of the time it's a bunch of older people making decisions and policies about what they think is good for us with out listening to what we have to say. And I just think Tom is very impressive for doing what he is doing.

If you could ask your Freedom Centre idol three questions what would they be?

1) When you were being bullied who did you talk to about it?
2) What do you plan on doing after you finish school?
3)
What's your favourite website?

When was the first time you heard about or, saw your FC idol?

I was 3 or 4 and I had woken up really early. I turned on the T.V. and rage was on. Wind beneath my Wings came on, the clip where there is a trapeze. I pretty much loved her after that.

What have you learnt from your Freedom Centre Idol? (If there's anything)

You don't have to be typically beautiful to be beautiful! That camp women are fabulous.

If your Freedom Centre idol could read this is there anything you would like to say to them?

Divorce your husband and marry me instead. The age difference won't be an issue.

Why are they your Freedom Centre Idol?

She is like a female drag queen and I always identified very closely with that growing up.  It made her a good rolemodel for me who as a young girl, felt like a young boy who wanted to dress up like the queen. She also does lots of work in her community at a ground roots level. She's amazingly talented, incredibly intelligent and just plain fabulous.

If you could ask your Freedom Centre idol three questions what would they be?

1) Why do you wear your hair strawberry blonde now, instead of blood-nut red?
2) What is your message to young women?

3) Would you reconsider going blood-nut red again?
