Volunteer

Freedom Centre relies on the commitment and generosity of volunteers to keep our services going.

Freedom Centre is run by same sex attracted & gender diverse youth & our straight allies, for same sex attracted & gender diverse youth. There are great opportunities for young people to get involved, make a difference, gain skills & experience, and most importantly, have fun while doing something valuable with a great group of motivated, interesting & diverse young people

Most importantly we need volunteers to staff drop-in sessions but we can also use volunteers for administration, special events and projects.

Volunteers are required to volunteer a minimum of 2 drop-in sessions per month and attend the monthly FC Team Meetings. This means a min of 8 hours per month. Though arrangements can be made with the Coordinator if you have circumstances that prevent you from doing this, and have other time & skills to offer.

Usually our volunteers are between 18 and 26, (or we sometimes make exceptions for those under 30) please contact the FC Coordinator, Dani, to express your interest in volunteering for us.

Volunteers must complete the Orientation Training to begin volunteering and commit to doing regular in-service trainings. Volunteers are also expected to uphold the expectations and rules for the Freedom Centre at all times.
