Freedom Centre  relies on the commitment and generosity of volunteers to keep our services going.

There are great opportunities for young LGBTIQ+ young people to get involved, make a difference, gain skills and experience, and, most importantly, have fun while doing something valuable with an awesome group of motivated, interesting and diverse young people!

In particular, we need volunteers to staff drop-in sessions, but we can also employ the support of volunteers for administration, special events and projects.

As we are a peer-based youth service, our volunteers are between 18 and 26 years of age (sometimes we make exceptions for those under 30).

Volunteers are required to help out at a minimum of 2 drop-in sessions per month and attend the monthly FC team meetings. Although, arrangements can be made with the Coordinator if you have circumstances that prevent you from doing this and have other time and skills to offer.

Volunteers must also complete Introductory Training to begin volunteering, and they must commit to doing suicide prevention training, as well as additional training and info sessions as required. Volunteers are expected to uphold the expectations and responsibilities of the Freedom Centre at all times.
